Hi All,I have been trying to update my version of Alfresco to 3.3 on CentOS, but seem to be getting a kernel crash when running the installer binary. Look in your alfresco.log file for the startup message. Or you can see the version from the web client.
2) Is there a set Upgrade path for converting to 3.3?
From which version?
3) If so, where can I find binary installers for previous versions?
The developer's wiki or sourceforge. However you don't need the binary installers to upgrade.

I've tried googling around but can only find the binary installer for Community 3.3.
Could you send me the locations of previous versions? (not necessarily binary installers)?

What procedure would you recommend for upgrading from 2.2 SP4 to 3.3?

As mentioned in my previous post, running the 3.3 CE installer (on CentOS) crashes on frequent occasions.

Could someone please suggest alternative means of upgrading to Alfresco 3.3 CE?

Apologies for the spam, but getting Alfresco updated is business critical at the moment.

you should just be replacing the war file and updating your config. And remember to back up first.

What do you mean the "installer crashes". If it does indeed "crash" then can you raise an issue in JIRA with as much detail as possible so it can be properly investigated.

And AFAIK there is no such version as Alfresco 2.2 SP4 Community. The service pack implies Alfresco Enterprise. And if you are using Alfresco Enterprise then please contact alfresco support for advice and help.

It appears that the help file (accessed via the Alfresco web app) shows one thing, the logs something else:

08:13:17,222 INFO [org.alfresco.service.descriptor.DescriptorService] Alfresco started (Community Network): Current version 2.1.0 (482) schema 64 - Installed version 1.2.1 schema 12

By 'installer crashes' I mean that running the Alfresco 3.3 binary installer actually generates a kernel panic; specifically, the GUI (or PuTTY terminal) will halt during execution of the binary, and the three keyboard lights will begin flashing.

Also, I have been googling around for a WAR file I can download, but have thus far found nothing.
Do you know a good FTP site?
Where can I find detailed instructions on installing WAR files?

Any questions or points need clarifying, please ask.

Wow - it should not be possible for an installer cause a kernel crash, all it should be doing is copying a few files.

According to the docs, the alfresco.war file should be copied to /var/lib/tomcat6 or some such.

However, no such directory exists on my system.

Are the rules different for 3.3 Community Edition? (i.e. is there a different directory to copy to).

Apart from starting / stopping Tomcat, are there any other fomalities I have to go through, (except backing up alfresco etc).
