Is there any documentation for installaing Alfresco 3.2 CE from a war file on linux server (if any war file exists ;-))? In my case I would like to install on Ubuntu Linux 8.0.4 LTS server and use existing Tomcat 5.5.x or Tomcat 6 version, Java 6 and MySQL 5.0.x?

If there is no war file or documentation available for it, would it be possible to install from the mac bundle on a local mashine and then clone the installation to the server, I mean copy the database, the webapps and alf_data, extras, amps and otther folders in the same directory where tomcat is installed?

Thanks for any advice in advance!

You can just take alfresco.war and share.war and drop it into any Tomcat instance and start it up and it will work. My default it will use default configurations such as default mysql database with default username and password.

thank you very much for your advice and the links and also for the great documentation, it works great on Ubuntu, I had only to create a blank alfresco database and grant all rights to alfresco user, changed the default password in tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco-global.properties and restarted, the only ERRORs which I can see in alfresco.log after a fresh start are:

21:24:13,097 ERROR [org.alfresco.fileserver] Failed to get local domain/workgroup name, using default of WORKGROUP
21:24:13,097 ERROR [org.alfresco.fileserver] (This may be due to firewall settings or incorrect <broadcast> setting)

Which I guess is CIFS related? I've to set "cifs.domain" somewhere?
