Hi AllWe are trying to integrate a scaning capture system with Alfresco using CIFS. What we would like to get is an integration that when a image gets in the scanner, the exit of the scanner goes directly to a folder in the pc connected to the scanner and the folder is mapped to a space in Alfresco

Sorry to ask again… but we are stucked over here.

As I have explained before, we have created a rule to be launched once a XML document arrives to a space using CIFS, the rule will call a process that should read the XML file and assign metadata values to other JPEG files that arrive to the same space using CIFS also (and always before the XML file arrives).

Problems seems to be that the scanner, first creates a temp XML file with extension "filename.xml.pwfl", then writes on it, and as last step it moves the name of the xml file to "filename.xml".

I have tried to lauch this process with a business rule, (I have tried it on no background and on background mode) but dont get it to work. However if I make the scanner to export the JPEG and XML files to a folder in my Windows PC, and then I move the files to the alfresco space using CIFS, the rule works 100% perfect.

Any ideas on how I can get to work the integration Scanner-CIFS-Alfresco Business Rule??

Thanks a lot, hope someone can help us here!!

Cheers

Well I guess it is impossible to do it with Alfresco and CIFS. After a week searching and reading posts and documentation, I am not able to lauch the rule once the scanner sends the XML document (temp and final one) to Alfresco using CIFS. I have to export the files (jpg and XML) to a local folder and then move them manually to Alfresco…. Did not find other solution.
