SMB/CIFS configuration problem

I have a samba server acting as a PDC. My domain name is DOMAIN. I configured a Windows 2000 machine connected to DOMAIN using an account that has administrative rights. The Windows 2000 machine name is WIN_CLIENT.I install and start Alfresco (enterprise edition) on WIN_CLIENT, and all seems fine.I

I think i had the same problem. I resolved it logging me as: Domain'\'username

I don't even receive a prompt when trying to access CIFS. I just receive the same error that aelnattar receives.

\\NAMEOFSERVER_A is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

You were not connected because a duplicate name exists on the network. Go to System in Control Panel to change the computer name and try again.‍‍‍

I had the same problem.

The error was : System error 52 (a duplicate name exists on the network).

I resolved it by adding a new value in the registry on the remote computer.
