topic search pdf content in Alfresco Archive

search pdf content

hi I am using alfresco 3.2.x. I am trying to search content which is inside pdf. I have been able to search text inside doc and txt files but can't do the same for pdf. Please help. Regards Harinderpal Singh

Must work.
Can Adobe Reader or Foxit Reader search text in this pdf file ?
You upload file to Alfresco by Alfresco Explorer ?

Thanx for replying. Adobe reader can read and find text in file. I uploaded file using alfresco explorer. Also when I search for "nitf" from web interface the document does show up.

Maybe you select wrong encoding when upload file ?

I have this problem too on 3.0 version. New versions i never have this problem again.
I dont know how i can fix this, but sometimes alfresco dont extract content into pdf file.
Make test to know if alfresco extract text of document by click on the INFORMATION button, right side of document. If you could see the content of document, this will be confirm to you something are wrong with the search engine (unlikely).
