Clustering: No ContentData value exists

I have an Alfresco cluster set up with 2 servers. I create a document on one and I can see it on the other. I can access the newly created document on the server it was created on, but when I try to access it on the 2nd server I get the following errorrg.alfresco.error.AlfrescoRuntimeException:

try rebuilding your indexes. This error comes from corrupt index information.

We have just experienced a similar error in the production system of one of our customers and according to the investigations into the source code, this almost always is a consequence of invalid data in the 2nd level cache (ehCache) due to improper cluster setup / non-clustered operation with 2 servers accessing the same database. Corrupt indices on the database, as the previous poster suggested, are the 2nd most, but generally significantly less likely cause (provided you use a stable, production-grade RDBMS version and do not fiddle with the data manually). Make sure you have your cluster set up properly if the error persists after you tried rebuilding the indices.

I suppose this is the real question. How do you set up the cluster properly? Can you or anyone point me to proper configuration information?

I just got this error on a 5-machines Alfresco Enterprise 3.3 cluster that was working correctly.
Maybe because all machines were restarted while a bulk import was running?

I guess it is not a cluster architecture misconfiguration, as the cluster had been working before the restart.
The error still appears when doing a full rebuild of indexes: "Reindexer 1 failed with error: No contentData value exists for ID 668254".
