ALFRESCO & Drupal

We have a Charter School agency and we have developed a site using DRUPAL and we are looking into using ALFRESCO. We are also looking for someone to maintain their existing DRUPAL site. The reason we want to use ALFRESCO is because we want a product that can be easily integrated with any MICROSOFT

What is the advantage of using Alfresco with Drupal rather than just storing the content in Drupal? Is it simply because Alfresco may be the institutional CMS or does Alfresco provide features that Drupal does not? Is the modle

Drupal -> Alfresco DCM via CMIS -> content rule to push content on revision to WCM -> Deploy

Or

Drupal -> Content stored in Alfresco DCM by CMIS but deployed from Drupal. This strikes me as a less complicated and easier
to manage setup.

The reason why a lot of people integrate Alfresco and Drupal is that:

1) Alfresco doesnt have a front-end, and Drupal can be used as a front-end where you can easily edit the CSS to change the look of the site
2) Drupal is a database based system without much power over file management. All of the files are stores in the /files folder. There is no real folder structure. The version control and work flow capabilities in Drupal are quite limited compared to Drupal.
3) You cannot save files directly from MS Word or other applications to Drupal. You can only upload it.
