Is it possible to model roles / swimlanes / pools on an Activiti process model? If not, can you point me to the documentation that explains how they are defined and applied to activities?Many thanks

Yes, you can use pools and lanes with Activiti process models. It's considered meta data, so it has no value on a process execution level.

Can you point me to the documentation that explains how to model and use pools and lanes with Activity process models? Are there any examples?

Having worked with the likes of Oracle BPM, roles allow partitioning of responsibilities that can later be bound to either people or software services. Can you point me to documentation that explains 1. how roles are modeled, 2. how they are bound to people or software?
