do you call a method recursively?
Do you limit recursion?

Thank you for response

Yes , I call the JavaDelegateInvocation recursively
the code select bank transactions from core bank system in batches (200 transaction per interval )
the code recall the JavaDelegate again and again until the the needed number of transactions retrieved .

note: when the user try to select around 8000 or 10000 the code is working fine
the error happened when the user try to select around 20000 transaction

This is a known problem in activiti v5 (you can tweak the stack size of the JVM, but there will be a number where it will overflow again). We've solved it in Activiti v6.

1) no final date yet, but it's already pretty stable. The alternative right now is changing the stack size
2) not heap, but stacksize: eg http://stackoverflow.com/questions/3700459/how-to-increase-the-java-stack-size
Not sure what the best setting (nor the deftault) is, so you'll have to test it out.
