Connecting alfresco to email server

Hi,I have just downloaded the Alfresco Open Source (Tomcat bundle). The server is running , I have created a rule for inbound doc that should send an email to a specific user but none email is sent. The email adress has been defined in teh user properties.Is there some other configuration to put in

we have just installed v1.1 and we are trying to find config/alfreco/respository.properties as indicated in the link provides.

We can't even find that item! Where is it located? Are you sure it exist in 1.1?

Hello,

In Tomcat it is found here: \tomcat\webapps\alfresco\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco\repository.properties

In Jboss it is found here:
\jboss-portal-2.0-jboss-4.0.2\server\default\conf\alfresco\repository.properties

Sorry to be a pain…

I see nothing to indicate the Alfresco is attempting to begin an SMTP dialog eith to it's own snadmail or any others that I configure…

Am I missing something obvious here???

I had installed Liferay Portal4.2.2 and configured with alfresco.Just i want to know in alfresco trigger mail alerts configuration facility is available or not.I am new to this application so please give me the quick solution.
