Custom content model support on ui - errors

I created a custom content model and UI modifications as outlined in Jeff Potts' article on ecmarchitect.com http://ecmarchitect.com/images/articles/alfresco-content/content-article.pdf.It looks like the content model and its setup is good - do not see any stack traces in Tomcat during startup. Hi,

1) can it be you forgot the naespace designator ? "cm:hasCustomView" or something ?
2) If you are working with Alfresco > 3.0, you can use the dynamic deployment for testing. Uploading the model and activating it in company home/ data dictionary / models will give you different errormessages sometimes in the log
