topic Deployment Targets in Alfresco Archive

I have followed Getting_Started_with_WCM_for_Alfresco_Community_Edition_3_2.pdf to page 28 and step 2, however the deployment fails.

After following another thread, I have re-configured the deployment receiver as follows:

Type: Live Server
Transport Name: default
Host: localhost
Port: 50500
Username: admin
Password: <password>
Target Name: avm
After re-configuration, I republished and received the message, "Deployment Successful". (Page 11 of the PDF should be updated to have correct values.)

In Windows Explorer I can see the repository at \\alfresco.ip.address\avm\alfrescosample.

However, I want to be able to see the alfrescosample WCM site on HTTP and I cannot find it anywhere.

So……my dumb question that I can't seem to find an answer to is, "How do I see the published alfrescosample on HTTP? What is the URL?"

While you can use the virtualisation server to preview the store, for performance reasons this is not a good approach for your live web site.

What you have done is successfully deployed your content to an AVM store. This AVM store can be thought of and used as a "back end" serving up dynamic content to support your web site.

What you also have is a file system deployment target that is typically used to deploy files out to a location that will be served up by a web server.

Typically your web site will have some static content (jsps, images, text documents, html) that will be deployed to a filesystem and some dynamic content that will be served up at runtime which will be deployed to an avm store.

Typically your web site will have some static content (jsps, images, text documents, html) that will be deployed to a filesystem and some dynamic content that will be served up at runtime which will be deployed to an avm store.

I understand, so in other words, the Getting_Started_with_WCM_for_Alfresco_Community_Edition_3_2.pdf tutorial essentially stops before the site goes into production. With that understanding in mind, where can I find tutorials or recommendations on how to use the avm content as a part of my production website?

Thanks,
Jeff
