topic symbolic links & shortcuts in Alfresco Archive

It is a well known issue in database design that duplicating files eventually leads to disaster ….loss of version control etc. But complex filing system 'invite' users to duplicate to ease access and complex work flows require access to multiple often 'apparently unrelated' documents. In Mac os x one can use symbolic links or in windows shortcuts to a file to create a link to a single document in many different places. This allows any file or folder to include all relevant documents without implying duplicating any document from its original location.

Is there any way one can create a symbolic link or short cut to a document in Alfresco?

(If not this really should be a priority as it is fundamental to long term integrity of a filing system).

Dapo

thanks. Can you kindly point me to the basic documentation …searching wiki has got me some unhelpful deeply technical hits… 😞
thanks
Napata
