Hi,We are using Alfresco 3.1.1 with JBoss 4.2.3 over Red Hat Enterprise Linux(RHEL) 5.0.Our alfresco server is on one machine & mysql server is on another machine & both are Linux servers.Here are the entries for alfresco server on Linux:etc/hosts file entries are as 129.221.36.89 inhyd-al

It looks like you are trying to use the JBoss JNDI entries for Alfresco. It would be easier to get Alfresco to talk directly to MySQL via Hibernate JDBC rather than through JNDI. Look in the **extension** folder for the custom-repository.properties file and the custom-hibernate-dialect.properties. Make sure you have uncommented the MySQL strings in both and set the JDBC URL to be correct in the custom-repository.properties file.

The connection refused exception suggests that the database isn't listening on the address that you have specified.

Make sure there really is a TCP socket open. Try this command

telnet 129.221.36.58 3306

If it manages to connect, then the database is listening. Press Ctrl + D and return to exit.

If not, you have a network or firewall issue.
