Hello, I have installed Alfresco CE 3.3 on a Linux Red Head System.Most things are working fine, but there is a major issue with indexing/search: I get no results when performuing a simple search over MS Office Documents (2003/2007) .I tried out the same with a Windows System (XP) and there was no P

Hello Dranakan,

this is Chris, thank you very much for your answer!

Originally there was no Ooo Installation, but i installed a new one (v3.~2).
It works fine, but without change (upload of new docs and reindexing didnt help).
So i posted here.

Anyhow, is Ooo requiered for this? In the Documentation OOo is mostly portraied as optional and only relevant for the pdf-conversion (Your post reraises my original suspicion).

I will post the log on monday.

Ok,

Ooo seems to be the key!
(also found: http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?t=15803&f=7)
I think thats an important key, that should be outlined more directly in the documtentaion.

Anyhow, gettin Openoffice to work seems to be a little tricky, but it works. The installation path does matter.
