Share 'Site Finder' and My Sites Dashlet

I am working on getting Share up and running for a fairly large deployment, and have run into a bit of a problem. We are running Alfresco community 3.0.0 stable on windows 2003/MySQL, installed with the complete installer package. It was easy enough to set up and get hooked up to our LDAP director

Do your usernames contain dots by and chance? If so, this was an bug in that release which has now been fixed on HEAD and in 3.2 Labs Preview.

Thanks Mike for this answer, but this ticket is just for the search member in a site, right?

I've been following this ticket, locate on my Alfresco server the files named, and took care of making the changes requested.

I can now search members,but I still can't search sites.

Our configuration is:

NTLM for authentication
LDAP for synchronisation
users format is firstname.lastname

I finally manage to get everything working excepting the "search site function".

You'd probably need to update all the ones in the /site/ folder too - search for any files ending with .desc.xml. Where the format type is JSON, update with the fix suggested in the ticket.

Hi Mike,

After updating every file finishing by .desc.xml in the /site/ (tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/…/templates/repositery/sites/), it still put a wrapped exception when searching for sites.
I've updated the subfolders too.

Wrapped Exception (with status template): Error during processing of the template 'Method public org.alfresco.repo.jscript.ScriptableHashMap org.alfresco.repo.site.script.Site.listMembers(java.lang.String,java.lang.String) threw an exception when invoked on org.alfresco.repo.site.script.Site@1f6442a'. Please contact your system administrator.‍

Please let me know if there is anything else I should do.

The function for searching members is working great btw.

Hi,

I finally assumed that it was related to our groups.

After reinstallation without importing AD groups through LDAP, I don't have any other errors.

If groups in AD contains @, could it cause problems?

It's possible, yes. If you can reproduce the problem please raise a JIRA ticket so we can prioritise a fix.

And to do it, the steps are only delete the group relative lines from ldap-synchronization-context.xml?

I have the same issue and have done the steps in this post and in the other one talking about this.

Hi,

I'm trying to reproduce the problem. (I set up group configuration with groups containing the @ characters and . characters)

I didn't remove anything from group import, I just imported an OU where 0 groups where created.

Well, I removed the group info in the synchronization file and now it works
correctly.

BTW, I cleaned the database to "restart" the instalation and fine.

I must have been wrong on this wrapped exception.

After importing again today the groups containing "@" and "." for some, the search site function doesn't return any errors.
