We've had some initial design ideas around DataTable-based editing, but currently have no fixed plan when this might be developed.

Regarding your "Create Content" option, you should take a look at the following two articles:

Thanks Mike, good to know it's been discussed internally. Can/should I add this to Jira or elsewhere as a feature request? I'd be curious to see if it's important to others.

Although the resources you linked to are terrific, they're about as far over my head as an airplane, so I'll need to just cross my fingers and wait patiently

Great product in any case - I've tried TeamElements, Liferay, Clearspace and others for customer project documentation; but Share has a far better UI and the advantages of Alfresco's maturity. Rock on.
