i am new to activiti and BPMN. i am using some of the examples in activiti in action. i am designing a vacation request . Hi Hema,

But if they didnt schedule, the request has to end if vacation end date is met.

Use http://www.activiti.org/userguide/#bpmnTimerBoundaryEvent, with cancelActivity="true".

Thanks. i want to know if group A approves, it goes to group B,but it does not require group B to approve. But they can cancel the request. How to achieve that? If group B does not cancel the request, the request has to end.

Hi Hema,

Part of your process could look like:


Start -> Group A approval  –> X –> Group B Cancel –> End

Group B Cancel user task can have boundary timer event with cancelActivity="true". In the case when timer is fired, user task is canceled and whole process can cancel request and end.
