I am using 3.0b version. And one more request is it possible to change the database name other than the alfresco.

Hi,
There are a few ways of changing the document type. It depends on how you intending setting the metadata; user-set on the UI, metadata extraction from the document format itself or by some other means. Give some details of where the custom data lives and how you would like to get it into Alfresco, please.

I presume you are using MySQL. http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/rename-database.html. Then just fix the db.url property in your custom-repository.properties.
