Use that variable on the sequence flow after an exclusive gateway.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;In the user guide &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;A href="http://activiti.org/userguide/index.html#bpmnJavaServiceTask" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"&gt;http://activiti.org/userguide/index.html#bpmnJavaServiceTask&lt;/A&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;, see section 'Exception Sequence Flow' , you could do something similar.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
