Hello, Are the web services that are available in the current release adequate to access the AVM content store and perform WCM-related functionality? That would be things like adding content to your sandbox, submitting, approving, deploying, and accessing it from the project sandbox. I see there

There are various interfaces available for accessing the AVM stores which are used by WCM.
AVM itself has Java, Web Service, RMI, Rest, CIFS, and WebDav (and probably more!) interfaces which allow low level access. Users tend to use the Alfresco Explorer or come up with their own solutions for calling the submit and deploy actions (you will find more details on these forums).

What we are doing at the moment is to expose the WCM application over easier to use Rest, Java and Java Script interfaces that remove the need to know lowel levels of how WCM is implemented. 3.1.0 / 3 Stable has enough functionailty to create a web project, set up a user with a sandbox, manipulate (CRUD) the contents of an author sandbox and then submit or revert assets. If this proves to be a success we'll probably include the rest of WCM such as deployment in a future version.

Thanks for the prompt reply. It would be great if you could provide additional details for some things that you mentioned.
* AVM interfaces for low-level access - which web services can we use to access content in AVM? I see authoring, content, repository, and so on, but it is not clear which ones would work with WCM. As far as I understand, WCM content is stored in a separate content store, and so we need separate APIs to work with it.
* Alfresco Explorer - is this the Alfresco web client UI? If it is, then it seems like you are suggesting we write code that runs on the Alfresco application server itself. We would be more interested in remote APIs such as web services.
* Accessing WCM applications over REST interfaces - is this already available? What APIs are these? Is there someplace where I can find out more about this?
