Hi,

I think the Activiti cloud ( activiti.alfresco.com ) will provide you a way to model your processes and forms that will be a better fit than the Eclipse designer.
Also the Alfresco integration will be easier.

This functionality (plus some extra features) are also available in an on premise solution; http://www.alfresco.com/products/activiti

Thanks for your reply Yvo,

your link seems very interesting so i registered to discover this new tool. However, is there a detailed guide or documentation for those online features? Sounds like an awesome tool, i will use the full designer once i get comfortable with BPMN 2.0. Anyway iam really interested to read and study some documentation before using the tool, and learn things about how to export projects and deploy them easily.

The activiti Cloud is free to model BPMN processes, no worries.

All the things written in the Activiti Userguide apply for the stuff you can find there. So once you have read the Activiti user guide, and especially the BPMN chapter, you can apply that knowledge on the tooling.

I've been progressing down the same route to learn how to develop workflows for Alfresco (including ecm tutorials, activiti designer, summit videos, kickstart, etc). I'm very happy to hear of activiti cloud modeler!

Exactly how can I take a workflow designed in Activiti cloud and integrate it with my alfresco instance? Can I compile it into an AMP?

Currently, my process is to create a maven project (AMP archetype), use kickstart to make bpmn and other xml files, then copy those files into the maven project, exit the XML by hand if i need to add anything beyond what kickstart is able to give me, then package the maven project, and finally apply the amp to my alfresco instance. I would love to hear of a better method.

Activiti Enterprise is an add-on to Alfresco (You can download a trial from the Alfresco website). If you've installed this add-on, you can deploy a process (including forms) directly to the Activiti Engine, so no AMPs needed anymore.

For Activiti pricing, you need to contact the Alfresco sales people. We, the friendly developers, are not and don't want to be involved with that 😉
