Hi found the reason JLAN is behaving that way especially on XP and Vista (Mac and Linux are fine).

Following a openFile issues by JLAN to the DiskInterface, a SingleFile search is issued and a file handler is expected to be return that of the file opened earlier.

Hi There,

Could someone help me out here please. I have a deadline today on this.

I have implemented the JLAN DiskInterface. When I open a file for read I return a NetworkFile which contains my java.io.File.

When I open the file using Notepad/word it shows (top barre) the parent directory name and not the file name.

My question where is the file name queried from. Is is NetworkFile or another class.

I mush apreaciate your help.

Regards
JC
