I've found plenty of info about using Joomla with Alfresco for CMS, but that's not what I'm looking for. Hi,

We are also looking for a similar solution. Use Joomla as the front end and make use of Alfresco's WCM capabilities. Is it possible? Can this be implemented using a framework other than Spring Surf (refering to WCM Quick Start app).

Yes of course its possible. There are many web sites using alfresco as a back end and various frameworks on the front end.
