Hello!I'm a Activiti newbie, and am working out how to best use it for structuring my company's work. Questions:1. You approach is good in general. How many process instances do you want to execute per year?

Hard to predict. Issues depend on the technology and how it will be used.

a. When we need to do things like getting users to do file uploads mid-process, is using an external form our best option? This leads to a fair bit of complexity, e.g. the extra REST service - can all this be done within Activiti somehow?

We use our forms infrastructure to upload documents.

b. What I'm doing with the maven modules feels wrong somehow… can I just make my own .war somehow that gets deployed alongside Activiti Explorer and the out-of-the-box REST API all in one tomcat container, sharing the same database? How would this work?

I do not understand the question.

Note:
From my point of view you have the knowledge how the process, forms, mails … should look like. May be you can use ready to use product on the cloud to cover your needs. (e.g. edoras-one but there are others too).
