Nothing has changed recently that could explain this behaviour. I haven't experienced this myself.

I can confirm this problem when using Google Chrome. Seems like this is related to a Google Chrome Update. With Firefox, everything works as expected. The behaviour is reproducable with Chrome Version 43.0.2357.81 m

I am getting this error in chrome version 45.0.2414.0 dev-m. No errors in the log. Looks like browser issue.

I just reproduced this issue but didn't find the cause. (changed the code until it stopped being reproducible).
(I removed completely the right panel with the process details)
If i add any component in the right side (just an empty container, or a Label) the issue could be reproduced again.

this make me think is a issue between Vaadin and Chrome since by adding an empty container in a grid causes this issue. (but still under investigation)

Creating a simple Vaadin application with a similar structure and layout could be a good idea.

Me too, having blank-problem with Chrome Version 43.0.2357.130 - Ubuntu 14.04.
IE 9/10/11 - Windows 7 is OK (but with IE 10 and 11 need running in the compatible mode)
Firefox is OK too.

My quick fix is to press F5 (or click refresh button) the problem is simply bypassed at this time, but next actions still came back.
Where are you, activiti-team. Please help us, it affects to my company at all sorry for my asking!

I wonder that do we need to upgrade the vaadin to the newest version? I think the ajax between them may be fixed in updated version.

I tested with Vaadin 6.8.16, build successfully but the problem is still available in newest Chrome 45.x. The test with newest 7.x Vaadin is very complicated with many errors while building the sources. Anybody who can build codes, please help us.
Anyway, my very bad choice here is that I told users in my company move to use Firefox, IE, or Chromium (Version 41.0.2272.76) instead of Google Chrome.
-> The Chrome needs to be warned within Activiti-Communities.

We are moving towards an Angular JS based UI soon, and we'll probably deprecate the Vaadin application. So we won't put much effort in resolving this issue, also since it's a Chrome only issue.

GOOD NEWS TODAY after upgrading Chrome to new Version 45.0.2454.85 m on windows 10. The blank problem disappears like a charm. Thank Google so much! Please help me to confirm as if the blank problem has been solved in your environment.

PS: I tested successfully with chrome 45.0.2454.84 on Android 5.1.1

Confirmed. This Chrome-related bug disappears with Version 45.0.2454.85 m.
