Hi all,I read some documents about the contentstore.deleted directory and I understand this directory is similar to the "trash bin " of Windows.Is it right?Because i'm not interested to deleted file which are in contentstore.deleted, can I empy the "trash bin" deleting just contentstore.deleted with

You can always delete the contents of contentstore.deleted - normally just after a backup, for example. The content in there is not referenced by anything, not even the "trash bin".

My alfresco "contentStoreCleanerTrigger" cron task is not running. I don't known how can I debug this issue.

Can I rm -rf /opt/alfresco/alf_data/contentstore.deleted/2008/ while alfresco is running ? Or I have to stop alfresco before doing that ?

Can we remove /opt/alfresco/alf_data/contentstore.deleted/ via cron system task (an script which rm directories older than x months) or it is mandatory to do it with Alfresco Trashcan Cleaner ? Which adventages have this module ?

Hi,

I did, I read previous posts before asking here. Nobody comments about rm -rf … And it is not clear why should we have to have a backup before, because that files seems to be not referrenced anymore in db

Really I spent more than 45 minutes reading before asking. Sorry if I missed something

But, why would we want to do a backup from this files ?? If we can't recover it to see visible in alfresco ?

If you backup strategy is not correct relative to the cleanup of orphaned content and the time that content is protected, you may have some content moved to contentstore.deleted without being backed up … we can't guarantee when Alfresco servers will be backup up or that they will be backed up correctly. Of course, the acid test is to take any given backup and restore it to a test system and ensure that the data you expect to be there really is.

I can't imagine any case where having contentstored.deleted restored could be usefull, but maybe there are some alfresco tools which could do the magic with an database (from a older backup) containing references to object which are in this contentstored.deleted directory.

Set the orphan protect days to a period smaller than your backup cycle and you'll need the contentstore.deleted.
