I would like to understand if there are any tools available for Merging BPMN Processes.

Here is a typical scenario.
1. We ship Version 1.0 of a Process with our Product
2. Customer installs our Product and installs Version 1.0 of the Process and customizes it creating Version 1.1. Customer deploys Verion 1.1
3. In next version of our Product, we do some changes to the Process creating Version 2.0
4. Customer upgrades to next version of our Product. Version 2.0 of Process is imported but deployed Version stays as Version 1.1
5. Now Customer wants to see changes between Version 1.1 and Version 2.0 and merge these changes.

How can the problem mentioned in Step #5 be solved?

Does Activiti BPM have / has plans of providing a Tool / utility to address this?
Are there any other standard BPMN Tools for addressing this?

— Abhijit

Hi Abhijit,

BPMN process definition is XML file - it can be merged by standard merging tools.

In case when you need graphical diff to merge your process definition. We have implemented such a tool in our products (https://www.edorasware.com/edoras.html).

Regards
Martin
