topic Scalability in Alfresco Archive

We need a CMS for a content archiving app, and I need to know whether Alfresco can scale.

The first requirement is that we need to store binary files that can get as large as 3-4 gigabytes. Is this possible?

The second is that users have local directory structures with as many as 3,000 files, and we'd like them to be able to drag the files to the archive, and have the system do the copying in the background (because it could take some time when the files are large). Possible?

I see that there is a CIFS interface. Is this the best way to copy files?

Alfresco will happily handle files of 4GB (or bigger).

As for drag and drop asynchronously functionality that rather depends upon the program doing the dragging and dropping. For example does windows file explorer do what you want? CIFS or Web Dav could be good solutions if you tend to use Windows.

You can also use windows offline folder synchronisation features.
