I have raised a bug for this: ALFCOM-2796
It would help if you could upload one of the failing PDF documents to the bug for quicker analysis and resolution.

The PDF only contains images (scanned text) - no actual text. That's why it's not searchable. I agree with Derek: this shouldn't be allowed to affect the upload process - does the file upload correctly or do you get an "Upload failure" message?

By the way, you can "watch" JIRA issues to be notified of updates.

I think the term 'searchable' here means 'metadata extractable' hence

Metadata extraction failed:

Just to clarify, this file can not be uploded and the error is 'upload fail'. In the first post you can see the error in the log file.
