[tomcat]/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/file-servers.xml contains the CIFS Server Authentication items. I also disabled CIFS (and FTP) in file-servers.properties, because I was getting the same error you described. Any other SMB errors were resolved by adding properties to alfresco-global.properties, as recommended here: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/File_Server_Subsystem#Running_SMB.2FCIFS_from_a_normal_user_account
