I think u also need to start Alfresco virtual_tomcat.
Do u start both alf_start.bat and virtual_start.bat ?

Thanks Sanket for your reply. Yes of course it's started. Like I mentioned in my post, the preview works fine except for the EL. If I don't use EL there is no problem.

I think the problem lies in the fact that the virtual server is a minimal setup without the EL libraries. However I have tried to copy the EL libraries into the virtual server, but that didn't help.

Any other suggestions?
