Alfresco working very slow

Hi All,I hardly have any idea about alfresco. The greatest mistake that I have made is that I have successfully installed RHEL 5 on a PC. The PC is running with 2GB RAM. People out here using it as there application and database server.There application looks like follow:

Hi,

Please post the startup logs for your server so that we can see the VM memory assignments, etc.

Another common mistake people make with JBoss is with the log4j settings: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Log4J_Configuration
It is very easy, with the XML Log4J config, to get zero DEBUG output while actually generating zillions of DEBUG Strings - and walking vast tree structures doing so.

Hi,
Your VM settings look good. There should be no problem. You could try to run the app in Tomcat (as a test) where you definitely won't be hitting the log4j config issue.

Hi,

Thanks again for your contineous interest.

I have checked with the application people. The same configuration is running fine in other m/c where OS is RHEL 4. Thats the only difference. Even, previously it was running fine on this PC only (OS was RHEL 4).

Thus, I am not sure, whether there is any dependencey with OS.

I surmised that there might be a dependency on the Log4J settings and hence you should try Tomcat. The OS and your VM settings look fine.
