Make sure you check that, before comparing. Or - better programming practice - switch the .equals() clauses, calling the .equals() on the object you're sure of never being null (userId), inseatd of the other way around.&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/BODY&gt;&lt;/HTML&gt;</description>
