nightly builds

3C "nightly" builds are over a month old. Am I looking in the right place???

Perhaps "Nightly Builds" should be renamed "Intermediate Unofficial Releases" that are produced and uploaded when someone feels like it or remembers.

I can see the problem. Alfresco is not the easiest to build completely and someone has to do some sanity checking before publishing, so there is a bit of work involved.

A more cynical observation may be that these releases would contain fixes and improvements that Alfresco would like to be only available (to non developers) in the Enterprise version. I found the 15th Oct 3c build to be very stable and functional for Share compared to 3b release. I was hoping for another update before end November but I guess this is not happening.

Put the tinfoil hats away guys :wink: It's a technical issue on the automatic FTP job that's supposed to run on completion of a successful build and unit test run.

We're looking into the problem…

In addition to the broken automatic FTP job…

I apologise but I (and/or one of my collegues) broke the build last night . ops:

I think we only publish builds that pass the automated tests, there's no point releasing broken builds.

So, once fixed, if we do not see new builds then it is probably due to the builds not passing automated testing.

We grabbed the latest nightly build (complete install on Linux), installed it and checked the readme files, they say it is version 3b. Are we missing something, one of the bugs that is supposed to be fixed (JIRA) isn't in the current build?

If a username has a dot "t.user"…when they login to Share there dashboard does not display correctly.

freemarker.core.InvalidReferenceException - Expression sites is undefined on line 21, column 12 in org/alfresco/components/dashlets/user-welcome.get.html.ftl

That was fixed quite recently, so hasn't been merged to HEAD yet. We're trying to sort out a particular authentication issue on the E3.0 branch, so don't want to merge to HEAD until we've got to the bottom of it.

Unfortunatly there has not been a successful build for a while now. There is the Labs 3.2 Preview build to play with though.

And the need for the root.war was refactored away so it's no longer neccessary.
