I've tried some questions before some important questions in the forum with no response at all.

My point is that we was using Alfresco 2.1 as a tecnology enabler in our organization and we are planning to upgrade to the commercial license soon; we are still using alfresco 2.1 and decided to evaluate alf3 to see if it's worth buying it given its enhancements… but when we tried to migrate it, it surprised us all with this restriction.

I don't know what other choice do we have.. maybe a commercial trial?

Thank you for your reply, and sorry again about the sarcasm!

By the way… I think Alfresco not only gets benefited by the money the users of the Enterprise pay… I think there's a lot of value in the contributions of the comunity.

Me and my people had made a lot of contributions to the Alf community… those contributions were possible because we Installed Alfresco using Oracle as our database. If Alfresco would tell us we can not use oracle, maybe our organization wouldn't have alfresco because of the administrative costs we would incur by installing a new data base. If an organization already has Oracle and decided use an ECM like Alfresco, the normal thing is to use that database, not use a new one, even if it's in evaluation time, wich could take normally more than 30 days as you said.

Depends what you mean by "support" - these forums are support for the Labs / Community versions.

Mike

Hi Mike,
I'm trying to upgrade from alfresco 2.1 ce to alfresco labs3 CE. I'm using oracle 11g as db. When I'm trying to upgrade I'm getting error. I'm unable to upgrade if I'm using Oracle as our db, however I'm able to upgrade if I'm using MySQL as my database. I tried all the information found on the net to upgrade while using Oracle as my database but nothing worked. Please suggest me some way so that I can migrate from alfresco 2.1 to alfresco labs3 using oracle as my db.
Please reply ASAP.
:-Sameer
