There are many ways of dealing with "issues".

You could model an "issue" content type and configure it with rules and workflow. In fact one of the Alfresco training courses uses that as an excercise.

You could do the simple and stupid approach I have seen on far too many projects and stick an Excel spreadsheet into Alfresco

You could model your issue as a workfow task.

You could knock up a "share" website to contain your issues.

And I'm sure others will be able to come up with other suggestions.

Are there any code examples from the training courses available to see how this could be performed?

You mention to "knock-up a share website" to contain issues, this sounds very easy and attractive, are there any examples out there how to do this, or where to start if one wants to develop for share (more than just a simple dashlet)?
