By default Auditing in Alfresco is disabled.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I had gone through the same document and made the configuration changes but, In webclient where exactly we can see the audit details .

In one of my requirement I need to call the audit details of alfresco through webservice. Is there supporting methods there to do so. Could you share any information on that

If you have a look at your node in the web browser and select a Presentation Template called show_audit.ftl you will see the audit entries.

This template is in Data Dictionary/Presentation Templates which will show you how the document.auditTrail properties can be used.

Not sure it is in the WebService. You could put it into a webscript pretty easily though.

Hi ,
I am using Alfresco ECM 3.0 for document management.I read the document for auditing and copied the xml file.
I made the suggested changes in the file but now i dont know where i should place this file in ALfresco directory structure.
I have the following folder structure in the drive for Alfresco:
Alfreco:
alf-data
amps
bin
extras
install_extension
licenses
openoffice
OpenOfficeInstallFiles
tomcat
virtual-tomcat
When i see the document in "show-audit.ftl "template in web client i am unable to see the audit history of that document.

Kindly tell me the step by step process for enabling audit history once the file has been changed.
Where it should be kept in ALfresco directory and what should be the net steps??

Hi,
I have been able to see the audit history for a particular document in alfresco.
But there i see lot of technical details in the history which would be too complex for a layman. What could be the way to filter out necessary details from this history?

Yes, this is what needs to be done: to customize show_audit.ftl.

If you look in the wiki, *.ftl are freemarker files that generate output. Just define what you nreed from the audit information and modify show_audit.ftl accordingly.
