I would also like to see this.

From what I can see though, this may not be possible with their plug-in, as there software needs to be installed on both the Confluence server and the Sharepoint server.

As BenSwitzer says, the SharePoint connector for Confluence comes with a module that needs to be installed on SharePoint, making an integration with Alfresco much more difficult that it would have been otherwise.

However, I think similar results could be obtained (and in a more open, less proprietary way) by leveraging the CMIS implementation included in Alfresco Labs 3. Since the draft CMIS spec is available, it shouldn't be too hard to write a Confluence plugin that leverages the protocol to talk to Alfresco.

My company, Sourcesense, is an Alfresco and an Atlassian partner and would be interested in developing such a plugin and possibly releasing it as Open Source. In case anyone else is be interested in contributing to such a project, please reply here or drop me a note at u.cei AT sourcesense.com and we can talk about it.

I would be interested in assisting where I can. We also run both Alfresco and Confluence.

I originally thought that the functionality currently existing in Confluence to use a Webdav server as the attachment storage might be a good option, but there are a couple issues with that. The first, and most important, is that Atlassian has deprecated that functionality. Secondly, it doesn't provide some of rich functionality of Alfresco through webscripts and such.

My company too is interested in an integration between Confluence and Alfresco. Our setup is similar to that of the first poster Heierman: We have been heavily using Confluence for several years, but need a more powerful way to manage our documents.

As we need something up and running soon, a first step would be to develop a macro that displays alfresco items or search results in confluence. Has anyone of you already taken some steps in this direction?

On the long run a seamless integration, where confluence uses Alfresco as attachment store would be great.
@ucogei: In your post in december, you said that sourcesense is interested in developing a plugin. Whats the current status? have you already taken some concrete steps towards a plugin? We would be very interested in such a plugin. Active contribution from our side would also be possible.

For all those interested, my company Lateral Minds (based in Sydney, Australia) has built an integration between Confluence and Alfresco 3 for a client. We plan on releasing it in the near future as a product so let me know if you are interested. At this point it is built and tested against Alfresco Enterprise 3.0.1.
