I am seeing a similar problem and I am using Enterprise 3.1.

Was a solution found for this?

EDIT:
I think this might be a serious bug in 3.1.

I go to my web project within the alfresco explorer client.
I select "Actions > Invite Web Project Users"
I search for a particular user and select that user in the "results" area.
Then I select "Content Manager" from the "Role" area and click the "Add to List" button.
The user gets added to the list as a content manager as expected.
I then hit "next", skip sending an email, hit "next" again and on the summary screen hit "finish".

All seems well, no errors in client or on server.

However, if I now go to "Actions > Invite Web Project Users" again for the same project the user is no longer in the "Selected users/groups and their role(s)" list at the bottom of the page.
Obviously then when I login as that user and try to make edits I see the access denied error message.

I have tried this in ENT 3.1 on windows XP with derby, and also same version but on RHEL with a MYSQL DB but with the same results.

Can someone please confirm this is a bug? and maybe a possible workaround?
Thanks.

Hi! All

I am also facing a similar problem in workflow using Alfresco3.1.1. I have created two users A and B having two respective sandboxes weba and webalive. Both having content manager access on their sandboxes. I have given user B as reviewer in the website submission workflow added in sandbox of user A. Now when I submit a content using workflow in sandbox for A and include in autodeploy for ASR deployment, so that when content is submitted and approved it should be deployed to sandbox of B, then I am able to see the workflow in to do list of user B but as soon as he approves the content the content is failing for deployment and I am getting same access denied exception. Please help. Looking forward for your reply.

Thanks in advance
Ruchi

I had this problem in 4.0.c, it looked like there was some permission property set incorrectly somewhere in my repository, possibly to do with conflicting imported LDAP groups.
