I'm currently getting to know Alfresco WCM on a standalone computer.
I've run through the tutorial and everything is working as it should be.

I've recently begun developing my own web application and would like to use Alfresco WCM to supply the content for the website.
What I would like to achieve is that the content that is located in the Alfresco WCM Sandboxes to be available through CIFS, so I can just access the content via a simple path.

Sadly enough I can't seem to get the CIFS<->sandboxes link up and running.

In my alfresco-virtserver.properties the drive that should be automounted is v -> alfresco.virtserver.cifs.avm.versiontree.win=v
Is it enough to
- share a folder on my hardrive I wish to use for mapping over the network
- select "map network drive"
- assign drive V to the folder I just shared?
- start up Alfresco + virt server and hope everything works

This does not seem to work. Nothing is being shown on the Z drive.
Am I missing something / doing something wrong?

To access the sandbox via CIFS you need to mount the Alfresco repository, not a local folder on your hard drive. To do this, map a network drive to "\\hostnameA\AVM", where hostnameA is the hostname of the machine that Alfresco is running on with the letter "A" on the end.

Cheers,
Peter

Thank you for the info.
I got it working with \\hostname_A\AVM
You forgot to add the underscore.

Mounting could have been made a bit clearer in the wiki, because this rly is a nice powerful feature.

The underscore indicates that you're using version 2.0.x. The underscore was removed in 2.1.x (it caused problems in some network environments), so bear in mind that you'll have to remap the drive when / if you upgrade.

Cheers,
Peter
