I think Alfresco changed this already in Alfresco 2.9. In my case, the error is different.

Hi, I had the same problem and found the reason searching alfresco config files for CIFS. The host name for CIFS changed from ${cifs.localname}_A to ${cifs.localname}A (see file-servers.xml).

That means in Alfresco Labs 3.0a you may access your CIFS server via [hostname]a.

Hi,

thanks for the tip about the underscore removal

I've just been successful to connect into Alfresco CIFS. Nevertheless, I encountered 2 problems.
1. On drag 'n drop of one document onto "__ShowDetails.exe", I get the alert:

Alfresco Desktop Action Not a valid Alfresco CIFS folder‍

2. On dropping a document into a user folder, the application hangs for some time, and then appears a popup signaling the folder is not recognizable. The name of the document is displayed (also in the web client), but the file is 0 byte.

(Alfresco-Labs-3.0Beta)

Best regards,
stéphane

Hello

I am just wondering if anyone has found an answer for this one? I have found that CIFS works beautifully in Alfresco 2.1 Community Edition on SLES 10 server. But if I put alfresco-labs-tomcat-3a.1032.tar.gz on the same server it will not allow me to connect over CIFS.

For example I get this …
tcten01:/opt/alfresco # smbclient -U admin \\\\127.0.0.1\\alfresco admin
Domain=[TCTEN01A] OS=[Java] Server=[Alfresco CIFS Server 5.0.0 [beta]]
Receiving SMB: Server stopped responding
tree connect failed: Call timed out: server did not respond after 20000 milliseconds

There are no logs entries relating to this in catalina.out.

Does anyone have any ideas?
