I have installed Alfresco in a Windows XP computer. Once the Alfresco is started from the BAT file, it works well. Even the Other computers on the LAN can access it. Then I configured the Windows Service as given in http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Configuring_Alfresco_as_a_Windows_Service.

The Service Starts without any problem, and the Alfresco works within the Local computer. The problem is, when it's started from the Service, the remote computers in the LAN cannot connect to Alfresco (They even cannot see the Tomat main page).

So when it's started from the BAT file, remote computers can access, and when started from the Service, the remote computers cannot access it (but works well within the local host).

What could be the possible course for this?

Cheers,
Nalin

Hello everyone, Now I have a problem about Alfresco. After I have installed Alfresco successfully, I can start it by running start.bat file manually. However I want to make Alfresco start automatically as long as I start the server machine. Would you like to tell me how to solve this prob

It depends on your operating system, but it sounds like you're using Windows so you'll need to configure Tomcat (and the virtualisation server, if you're using Alfresco WCM) to run as a Windows Service. This process is described at http://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-5.5-doc/windows-service-howto.html, but make sure that you preserve Alfresco's startup parameters (JVM heap size in particular)

Cheers,
Peter

And configured the service as http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Configuring_Alfresco_as_a_Windows_Service

It's working fine. All the computers in the LAN can access alfresco.

So I doubt there's the issue with the Windows XP ?

Thank you,
