I had installed Alfresco initially, where it worked fine. A couple of days later, I began to get the dreaded 404 error - and to be honest, I'm still no clearer as to why this happened - multiple installs later and it still doesn't work.</SPAN><BR /><BR /><SPAN><SPAN>Today, accidentally, I ran a stored URL in my browsers history and while </SPAN><A class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://</A><SPAN>&lt;server&gt;:8080/Alfresco didn't work. I get a colleague on a different machine to visit </SPAN><A class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://</A><SPAN>&lt;server&gt;:8080/Alfresco - again, it works!</SPAN></SPAN><BR /><BR /><SPAN>It seems that actually visiting /faces/jsp/login.jsp somehow 'initiates' the alfresco package. </SPAN><BR /><BR /><SPAN><SPAN>BUT - yes, always a but - 5 minutes later, go back to </SPAN><A class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://</A><SPAN>&lt;server&gt;:8080/Alfresco/ - again, the 404 error, but go to the /faces/jsp/login.jsp url again and suddenly alfresco fires back up again! For now I may just run a scheduled task on the server to fire up IE and close it every 5 minutes, visiting that webpage.
