Please excuse me if this is a basic question but, do you need to download the source from svn in order to debug via Eclipse or can you use the SDK?I would like to be able to run Alfresco normally and use the Web UI but have breakpoints set in the code to step through at various places.Thank YouRyan

You can just use the SDK. Just set up Eclipse as per http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Alfresco_SDK.

Make sure to add the source code and java doc: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Alfresco_SDK#Associate_source_code_and_Javadocs_with_Alfresco_Libraries_.28optional.29

Then you can juts set up debugging on remote Tomcat (http://wiki.apache.org/tomcat/FAQ/Developing). Set the break points and you are set.
