Is there any way to constraint Alfresco's functionality?

Is there any way to constraint Alfresco's functionality?I mean, installing a version of Alfresco where some of the functionalities are not available.For example: Cration of business rules, versioning, etc.

The simplest way would be to constrain it through security.

I.e. if "edit documents" permission does not exist, or assigned to no
group, then you can't edit documents.

Just like you can add new functionality (like aspects, UI elements), you can also remove it.

For things like versioning, you can remove versionable aspects from configuration files.
