Integrate with existing mail server for authentication

Hi,I want to integrate Alfresco with already existing mail server. I don't want to use OpenLDAP server for user authentication.What are the modifications needed?Any pointers to the problem?Please describe in details as I've just started working on Alfresco and not very familiar with the terms.Thanks

What authentication do you use for your mail server?

Why do you not want to use Open LDAP?

well i have no knowledge about how to implement this feature.

like i've a domain server XYZ

i've mail ids like

abc@XYZ.com
def@XYZ.com
qwe@XYZ.com

i want these users to directly log-in on Alfresco server with there email ids as their username and there respective password as their password.
