Activiti Modeler doesn't work on Internet Explorer 9

With the Internet Explorer 11, the Modeler opens, but when I try to save a process, I get an error in oryx.debug.js on line 24655 which is the following line:

<code>var stripOutArray = svgClone.getElementsByClassName("stripable-element-force");</code>

Error is: The object does not support the property or method "getElementsByClassName"

Does anyone has an idea?

I know that officially, the Internet Explorer is not supported by the modeler (I think to know because of lacking svg-support?). But according to microsoft, IE 11 supports svg very well. Therefore, I don´t unterstand why it does not work.

Any reply would be appreciated
