Hi nermine

Dont worry all we know how it feels starting with alfresco and dont know where the documentation is. If you go to the main web page of the wiki site http://www.wiki.alfresco.com you will see in the left a section called "Popular Documentation", in there there is a link "Server Installation" (dont get confused with the "Installing in Linux") it explains all the posible installations, windows, Mac or Linux.

installing in Windows in pretty easy, while installing in Linux will require you some basic Linux knowledge.

Also if you are a beginner I will suggest you to take a look to this book: Alfresco - Enterprise Content Management Implementation, by Munwar Shariff. It explains pretty easy and with examples how to start configuring and using alfresco.

You can find the book in google in a pdf format, also you have to know that the book has been made for version 1.4, and now we are in version 2.2 for Enterprise and 2.9 for Community. Even so the book is a very good initial manual.

Hope this helps, enjoy it
