I have at most the same configuration (but I use multicasting for ehcache) and the same problem.
Can someone help me?

A more concrete question. Can Alfresco 2.1 community edistion work in cluster as discribed in
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Cluster_Configuration_V1.4_to_V2.1.2#Sticky_Client_Sessions_with_Simple_Repository_Clustering

I used the same configuration on a 2.9B CE and it worked fine.

I found the solution. The above mentioned wiki page suggests to use custom-repository.properties instead of index-tracking-context.xml file for alfresco versions greater than 1.4.4
It seems, unfortunately, that custom-repository.properties configurations for index tracking is ignored in CE 2.1
I added the index-tracking-context.xml file as described in:
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/AlfClusterIns
and now the cluster works fine (but I still have to do more testing…).
